Nine Lives Band

Formed in 2015, the Nine Lives Band features nine members from the larger Saint Helena Community Band. Facing logistical limitations of a large group of 40 or more, Kent Gaisford (trumpet) and Anahid Nazarian (saxophone) decided to put together a smaller group, allowing for more opportunities to perform, where a larger group could not.

The group originally called itself the Saint Helena Community Dixieland Band, playing Dixie jazz favorites, then, with an ever-expanding repertoire became the Saint Helena Community Jazz Combo. Today, as the Nine Lives Band, they bring high energy and musical whimsy to any event. The group is available for hire for any event.
The Saint Helena Community Band is an assemblage of volunteer, local musicians, who love getting together to make music. The band performs free concerts throughout the Napa Valley and beyond, furthering their mission of promoting music appreciation and music education throughout the community.
